Astounding !

January 1994

When this CD hit the streets in 1993, the Adventure Club already had some 220 Sunday Night shows under it’s belt. Hosted by Alex Luke who launched the show on KDGE, it was a place to hear new bands well before they were tried out in the station’s playlist.

This was the place were music fans first heard P.J. Harvey, Belly, Stereo MC’s, Smashing Pumpkins, and local bands like Tripping Daisy, The Toadies, Nixons and Course of Empire. So many bands came through the station in those days, not only playing live on the air during the week, but laying down sessions in our other studio to be played back on the Adventure Club.

This CD collects together some of the best of those sessions, plus a few ultra-rare tracks that were given to us for this exceptional CD. While many stations copied this ‘live in the studio’ CD in the years to come, this is where it all started… on the Adventure Club. This was a limited edition of only 4,000 CD which (were thought to have) sold out almost immediately.. until Blockbuster found a pair of unsold boxes nearly a decade later in a back room.
